Performance Foodservice, a leading national food distributor delivering over 150,000 food and food-related products to customers ranging from family-owned restaurants to nationwide chains, is seeking a safety-focused CDL A Delivery Driver for our night shift in {JOB-CITY}, {JOB-STATE}. As a key member of our Transportation & Logistics team, you will be responsible for the accurate, timely, and safe delivery of foodservice products to our customers on established overnight routes. This position includes operating a tractor-trailer, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, safely loading and unloading products using hand trucks and pallet jacks, and ensuring that all products are delivered according to customer specifications and company standards. You will interact directly with restaurant and foodservice staff, providing professional, courteous service and resolving basic delivery issues while representing Performance Foodservice’s commitment to innovation, teamwork, and outstanding customer service. The CDL A Delivery Driver – Night Shift role involves working primarily during evening and overnight hours, navigating a set route schedule, and adhering strictly to all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and food handling guidelines. You will verify orders against invoices, obtain required signatures, manage returns and refused products, and maintain accurate delivery documentation. The position requires physical stamina, including frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of product cases that may weigh up to 75 lbs or more, as well as operating in a variety of conditions such as cold coolers, freezers, and variable weather while loading and unloading. You will collaborate closely with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and supervisors to report route status, vehicle issues, and customer concerns. Ideal candidates bring prior CDL A driving experience in food & beverage or related distribution environments, strong knowledge of safe driving practices, and familiarity with local and regional roadways. You should be comfortable using basic onboard technology such as electronic logging devices (ELDs), handheld scanners, and routing systems.
