Help us collect signatures for a couple of important ballot initiatives! Los Angeles is growing, but our city budgets haven't kept up with the needs of the community. One of these initiatives will work to expand the LA Fire Department, adding desperately-needed firefighters and modernizing facilities to meet the city's demand and keep our communities safe. The other initiatives will hold large corporations accountable and invest more money back into our communities, rather than padding the pockets of the rich. By working on this campaign, you'll help win practical & local solutions that protect families, improve emergency response times, and invest in the community. This is a chance for Angelenos to step up for each other and help shape a safer & better city.
Petitioners will canvass in busy public areas and engage voters in one-on-one conversations to gather signatures for these ballot initiatives. This job is all about connecting with people face-to-face, having meaningful conversations, and inspiring them to take action on important issues. We spend our days outdoors, in public spaces, to engage with community members.
This role is a great opportunity to gain experience in the following areas: Leadership, Communication & Advocacy, Community Outreach & Engagement, Campaign Work, Public Policy, and Social Enterprise.
Get paid well! Base pay is $27/hour. Leadership positions start at $28/hour. We offer overtime pay, daily performance bonuses ranging from $20-$150/day, and bonuses for friend referrals. If you are a fluent bilingual speaker, you may earn an additional $2 per hour.
Locations: Van Nuys, Koreatown, Northeast LA, South LA
We are hiring immediately. Shifts run from 10:45-6:30 weekdays and weekends with the possibility to work part-time or full-time.
