Dental hygienist
Job Description Our Hygiene department provides a full spectrum of delegate-able responsibilities including traditional prophy, periodontal maintenance, SRP, root desensitization, and sealants. 60 minutes typically allocated for adult care and variable blocks for SRP and the range of ages for children.
All new patient adults are seen by the Dr first, with their initial diagnosis provided by this initial evaluation.
Children under 18 are seen by the Hygienist first.
A typical day may have 3 adults and one child before lunch and four after.
Auxiliary staff provide booking maintenance and instrument processing.
Each Hygienist is responsible for flipping their own operatory.
full-time $25 - $40 per hour
Compensation is via base hourly rate with production bonus to 33% net production. Office has high collection rate so outstanding balances do not effect bonus calculation. Earn more providing SRP than a child prophy with flouride. Earn more when doing sealants. Earn more with adult fluoride. The more comprehensive you are in your provided care, the better your compensation can be. Additional bonus when encouraging patients to proceed with elective care such as ortho and apnea as well. Starting rate is relatable to level of experience
Benefits Traditional American Holidays are off (New Years Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day).
If the holiday falls on a weekend, either the day before or after is taken off instead. If not scheduled for the Holiday, it is not a benefit.
Simple IRA after 1 year of employment.
Option of HSA eligible health insurance.
$1000/year/immediate family member dental benefits.
Vacation pay one normal work week after 1 year, 2 weeks after 2 years, 3 weeks after 5.
Patient care is Monday through Thursday
Arrival 7am with first patient seated at 8am
Lunch break 11:30am-12:00pm
Last patient dismissal by 4:00pm
Charting and prep for next day completed by 5pm.

Respect of timely execution of seating and completion of care with the ability to say "XXXYYY, your oral tissue is not healthy at this point in time and Dr may recommend that we take your care to the next level to get it back on track."
Exceptional teaching skills to enable the patient to successfully implement their home care routine to obtain and maintain their health
Consistent re-care data acquisition for diagnostic purposes such as probing (including bleeding points, furcation and mobility) and radiographs.
Appreciation of consistent protocols for patient care so that regardless of which Hygienist administered the care, the next one can follow and keep the same rhythm.
