Position Summary:
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building systems, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient facility operations. This role supports daily operations by performing preventative maintenance, responding to facility-related issues, and assisting with building improvements and equipment installations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and general facility equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to ensure equipment and facility systems operate efficiently and safely.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues throughout the facility.
  • Maintain building infrastructure including doors, floors, walls, ceilings, and fixtures.
  • Assist with installation, relocation, and setup of equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and facility emergencies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and documentation of repairs.
  • Support facility improvement projects, including upgrades, renovations, and equipment installations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and facility maintenance standards.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when necessary for specialized repairs or services.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or a related technical role.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, or schematics.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs and facility work order systems is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to work in various facility environments including mechanical rooms, production areas, and outdoor spaces.
  • Comfortable working on ladders or elevated platforms when necessary.
