Interior Design Assistant

J&J Contractors I LLC is a NARI award-winning, family-owned and operated interior/exterior home remodeling company specializing in home transformations.

We are seeking an Interior Design Assistant to support our Design Team in delivering an exceptional client experience. This role helps turn client ideas into organized selections, detailed plans, and finished projects through a combination of design coordination, communication, and administrative support.

What You’ll Do:

  • Enter and review client selections in BuilderTrend for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate with vendors to obtain quotes, layouts, specifications, drawings, and product information.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients, designers, and vendors throughout the selections process.
  • Review approved selections with clients and secure final sign-off.
  • Prepare change orders, pricing updates, and selection revisions as needed.
  • Maintain organized product lists, specifications, samples, and displays.
  • Schedule deliveries and help ensure materials arrive on time.
  • Support routine project needs such as deliveries, site visits, and inspections.
  • Schedule vendor appointments and attend meetings when needed.
  • Participate in weekly Design Team meetings and ongoing project coordination.

What We Need:

  • Associate degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Kitchen & Bath Design, Residential Design, Drafting, Architecture, or a related design field preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
  • Previous experience in interior design, design support, selections coordination, showroom consulting, remodeling, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong eye for design, color, materials, finishes, and space planning.
  • Ability to turn client ideas into organized and practical selections.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly. BuilderTrend, CAD, or design software experience is a plus.
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation for meetings and appointments.

Schedule:

Full-time, Monday through Friday
8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Compensation:

$15.00 – $19.00 per hour
