Description:
This position involves working in the SICU with a focus on adult patients.
The nurse may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on department needs.
Shift assignments are reviewed every four-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed.
Two years of ICU experience is required.
Candidates must have experience with Epic charting system.
Oncology experience, while preferred, is not required.
The nurse will handle a range of patient diagnoses including hemorrhagic shock, septic shock, pneumonia, and strokes.
Special procedures include external ventricular drain management, ICP monitoring, and CRRT.
Skills in mechanical ventilation, tracheostomy management, and vasoactive drip titration are necessary.
The patient ratio is two patients per nurse on day and night shifts.
Travelers may float to other units as needed.
All candidates must meet experience requirements within the past three years.
References from a manager or supervisor, as well as a second professional reference, are required.
Candidates must complete necessary credentialing steps promptly.
