Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A part-time Virtual Special Education Teacher opportunity is available to support students in grades 6-12 and 6-8 STEM through a virtual academy in Henderson, NC. This position offers a flexible schedule, allowing the selected candidate to work remotely while providing vital special education resource services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in a virtual setting
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
  • Collaborate with virtual school staff to ensure compliance with special education regulations
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly to promote academic growth
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines
  • Participate in virtual meetings with parents, educators, and service providers

Qualifications:

  • Valid North Carolina Special Education (SPED) teaching certification
  • Experience working with students across middle and high school grade levels
  • Ability to effectively manage a caseload as a resource teacher in a virtual environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in online teaching platforms and virtual learning tools

Position Details:

  • Part-time contract position
  • Monday through Friday schedule, 25 hours per week with an additional hour for planning
