Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a real impact supporting students’ communication and learning journeys as a remote Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. This is a VOCO contract opportunity offering a flexible, full-time schedule with 7.5-hour days, Monday through Friday, for the upcoming 26/27 school year. You’ll connect virtually with a caseload of 10-15 students, covering grades from elementary to high school, providing critical instruction and support to help each learner thrive across the district.

What we’re seeking:

• Current Tennessee Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) License
• Experience supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Strong virtual/remote teaching skills and comfort navigating digital platforms
• Ability to tailor educational plans to varying age groups and student needs
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
• Dedication to fostering inclusion and advocacy for students’ communication needs
• Prior experience in educational settings is valued, but newly licensed professionals are welcomed

Your key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement IEP/504 plans for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Provide direct instruction, accommodations, and ongoing support virtually
• Collaborate with special education teams, general educators, and families to promote student success
• Conduct assessments, monitor progress, and adjust interventions to meet learning goals
• Serve as a resource and advocate for accessible learning across the district
