Job Description

UCHealth is seeking a Vascular Technologist I to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our Colorado-based, nonprofit health care system. In this entry-level role, you will contribute directly to UCHealth’s mission of providing patient-centered, evidence-based care across our hospitals and outpatient facilities. As a Vascular Technologist I, you will perform noninvasive vascular ultrasound examinations under the guidance of senior technologists and interpreting physicians, helping to identify and monitor vascular conditions that impact our patients’ health and quality of life. Working within a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive care environment, you will conduct a variety of diagnostic vascular studies, including carotid, venous, arterial, and graft evaluations, using duplex and color Doppler ultrasound equipment. You will be responsible for properly preparing and positioning patients, selecting appropriate protocols, optimizing images, and collecting accurate hemodynamic data. You will document findings within the electronic medical record and provide clear, concise preliminary technical impressions for review by the interpreting physician, always adhering to established departmental protocols and accreditation standards. This role involves direct patient contact and requires a strong commitment to compassionate care. You will explain procedures, answer patient questions, and help reduce anxiety by maintaining a calm, professional demeanor. You will follow strict infection control and safety guidelines, support a clean and organized work area, and assist in maintaining and troubleshooting equipment to ensure consistent image quality. You will collaborate closely with vascular surgeons, radiologists, nurses, and other members of the interprofessional team to support timely and accurate diagnosis, appropriate triage, and continuity of care. As part of UCHealth’s culture of continuous improvement, you will participate in ongoing training, skills development, and quality initiatives within the vascular lab. You will engage in regular case discussions, competency assessments, and educational offerings to strengthen your technical skills and clinical judgment. Under the mentorship of experienced technologists and leaders, you will learn to prioritize exams based on clinical urgency, follow established protocols for stat and emergent studies, and contribute to a safe and efficient workflow that supports high patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes. UCHealth offers competitive benefits, including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, retirement savings options, and paid time off, supporting both your professional and personal well-being. In this Vascular Technologist I role, you will have opportunities for growth within the healthcare and medical services department, including progression to more advanced technologist levels, expanded procedural responsibilities, and involvement in research, education, or quality projects. This position is primarily on-site in a hospital and/or outpatient vascular laboratory setting, with potential rotation between facilities based on departmental needs, providing broad clinical exposure and the chance to build a strong foundation for a long-term career in vascular imaging and diagnostic medical sonography.
