UCHealth is seeking a Vascular Technologist I to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our hospital-based vascular laboratory. In this entry-level role, you will perform noninvasive vascular ultrasound examinations to support accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients with arterial and venous disorders. Working as part of a collaborative care team in a Colorado-based, nonprofit health system, you will contribute directly to patient-centered care across our hospitals and outpatient facilities. As a Vascular Technologist I, you will prepare patients for exams, obtain medical histories relevant to vascular disease, and perform high-quality vascular ultrasound studies, including carotid duplex, venous duplex for deep vein thrombosis, arterial studies of the upper and lower extremities, and physiologic tests such as ankle-brachial index measurements. You will operate and maintain specialized ultrasound and Doppler equipment, optimize imaging parameters, and follow established protocols to ensure accurate, reproducible studies. You will document findings in the electronic medical record, provide preliminary technical impressions to interpreting physicians, and communicate any urgent or critical findings promptly to the clinical team. You will work closely with vascular surgeons, cardiologists, radiologists, nurses, and other allied health professionals in a fast-paced, on-site hospital environment. Responsibilities include ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the exam, using appropriate positioning and infection-prevention practices, and explaining procedures to patients and families in a clear, compassionate manner. You will adhere to UCHealth and departmental quality standards, participate in ongoing quality improvement activities, and support the implementation of new protocols, technologies, and best practices that advance vascular imaging and patient care.
