Steel City Metal, Inc. is seeking to hire a full-time Structural Welder / Fabricator, preferred 2+ years experience. Ornamental Metal experience is a plus. This position is located in Birmingham Alabama. We offer a relocation service, if necessary.  

We provide custom high end ornamental metal and fabrication/structural. We are located near Chelsea, AL. Working with high-end clients creating custom railings, gates, fencing, stairs and other one-of-a-kind pieces in bronze, aluminum, stainless steel and carbon steel for residential and commercial clients. We offer high quality products of outstanding craftsmanship.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years experience
• Strong skill in welding, both MIG & Stick welding on steel & stainless steel
• Preferred experience with Ornamental Metal Fabrication & Installation of railing, stairs, fencing, etc.
• Layout and measure, cutting, sawing, bending, grinding and detail finishing
• Strong knowledge of hand tools; must be able to read a tape measure
• Industry relevant experiences
• Evaluate all engineering / CAD drawings and ensure implementation according to welding specifications
• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently
• Must have attention to detail & accuracy
• Must be able to prioritize, organize and multitask the jobs at hand
• Must be able to work in a fast, physically demanding environment; lifting, bending, standing, etc. team player, determination
• Ability to display mature qualities and positive attitude
• Industrial forklift operation & crane operation is a plus
• Knowledge of current building codes is a plus
