Are you a seasoned estimator who's ready to step into a leadership role, not just closing great estimates yourself, but building the quality and capability of an entire estimating team? We're looking for a Senior Xactimate Estimator who will set the standard for excellence across our remote estimating operation and help develop the next generation of skilled restoration estimators. About the role This is a senior-level position with a dual focus: you'll continue to work on complex restoration estimates yourself, while serving as the lead trainer and quality reviewer for our remote estimating team. You'll own the standard of what great looks like at RN, and you'll coach, develop, and peer review the work of estimators across our portfolio of fire, water, and property damage projects. Responsibilities: • Team leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of remote Xactimate estimators, serving as their primary trainer and technical resource • Peer review: Review and quality-check estimates produced by team members, providing structured feedback and coaching to improve accuracy, scope completeness, and profitability • Standard-setting: Establish and maintain estimating standards, templates, and best practices across fire, water, vehicle impact, tree collapse, and other property damage scopes • Training development: Build and refine onboarding and ongoing training materials for new and existing estimators • Complex estimating: Write and own comprehensive scopes in Xactimate for complex or high-value projects where senior judgment is required • Insurance negotiation: Lead negotiations with insurance companies and adjusters on difficult or disputed claims, modeling expert-level advocacy for the team • TPA compliance: Ensure all team estimates are documented in alignment with TPA/Insurance Company guidelines • Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with Project Managers, Operations, and field teams to ensure estimate accuracy reflects real job conditions • Tooling: Oversee use of DASH, Matterport, MICA reports, and other estimating tools across the team; identify gaps and improvements Qualifications: • 7+ years of construction or restoration estimating experience, with at least 2 years in a senior, lead, or supervisory role • Expert-level Xactimate proficiency — you know it well enough to teach it • Deep experience across fire, water, and structural damage restoration scopes • Demonstrated ability to review others' work, give constructive feedback, and drive improvement • Experience training or onboarding estimators is a strong plus • Strong communication skills — written and verbal — for both internal coaching and external adjuster negotiations • Comfortable managing workflow and accountability across a remote team • Alignment with our core values: ownership, care, and relentless improvement You'll thrive here if • You get genuine satisfaction from helping others get better — not just doing the work yourself • You hold a high standard and know how to communicate it without demoralizing people • You're a systems thinker who can spot what's missing in a scope and explain why it matters • You're energized by a growing, fast-moving company that's serious about building real infrastructure • You want a seat at the table where your expertise shapes how the department operates Compensation: $75,000 - $95,000 yearly
